| Task | To ensure food safety and to protect consumers, it is important to prevent adulteration and manipulations of food products at an early stage. This was the aim of the 6-month long Twinning-Light-Project in 2009 carried out by Germany and the Czech Republic. As a result of the project, a manual was developed for the consumer that was published online on the website of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA). This should contribute to raise consumers’ awareness of food fraud, explaining the tasks and duties of the CAFIA in protecting consumers and explaining how consumers can protect themselves.
